Hombre Vertiente

Creative Director, Stage Art, and Aerial Choreographer

In 2003, Pichón Baldinu co-founded and directed the theater company “OJALA”
, known for its high-impact visual and sensory artistic ventures.

“Hombre Vertiente” made its debut in December 2007, when the International Exposition of Zaragoza, Spain, invited “Ojalá” to create a performance focused on sustainability and water. The show officially premiered in June 2008, running for 93 consecutive days with 500 performances and over 1.3 million spectators.

Each night, 6,000 liters of recycled water were sprayed directly onto the audience, making the experience both visual and physical.. La infraestructura para “Hombre Vertiente”, fue compleja y diferente a la del teatro convencional. Los actores actúaban en el aire, suspendidos por cables de acero.

In 2011, a new production process began in Buenos Aires, evolving the story into a more extended version centered on the main character, the Water Carrier. This updated version was presented from Wednesday to Sunday, at the Villa Villa hall of the Centro Cultural Recoleta.

“Hombre Vertiente” resonated beyond Buenos Aires, with national performances in Santa Fe and Córdoba, and international success in Mexico City and Tel Aviv.

The show broke traditional barriers between actors and spectators, placing the audience at the heart of the action and creating a new dynamic. This proximity not only heightened the audience’s vulnerability and attentiveness but also invited a deeper and more emotional connection with the scenes.. El público se encontraba en el centro de la acción, creando una nueva dinámica. Esta cercanía no solo hacía que el público se sintiera más vulnerable y atento, sino que también lo invitaba a conectar de manera más profunda y emocional con las escenas.
